Overview
This AP Calculus Summer Workshop is designed for students preparing to enter or continue with AP Calculus AB or AP Calculus BC.
For students who have just completed Pre-Calculus / Honors Pre-Calculus / Year 11 mathematics, the course helps bridge the gap between algebra-based mathematics and the more abstract, fast-paced nature of AP Calculus. Students will strengthen essential functions, limits, differentiation, integration, graph interpretation, and problem-solving skills before the new academic year begins.
For students continuing into AP Calculus BC, the course also prepares them for the higher-level extension topics and more demanding question styles.
Each lesson is taught in a small group setting, allowing students to ask questions, receive focused guidance, and build confidence before the AP course starts.
Core Topics Covered
AP Calculus AB Summer Preparation
This course is for students entering AP Calculus AB after completing Pre-Calculus / Honors Pre-Calculus / Year 11 mathematics. Students will review the essential foundations needed for AP Calculus, including functions, graphs, transformations, trigonometry, logarithms, limits, basic differentiation, and introductory integration. The focus is to help students start AP Calculus AB with stronger confidence and avoid falling behind at the beginning of the school year.
AP Calculus BC Summer Preparation
This course is for students entering AP Calculus BC and wanting a stronger start before the faster-paced syllabus begins. Students will strengthen key AB foundations such as limits, derivatives, integrals, and graph analysis, while also preparing for BC-specific areas such as parametric equations, polar curves, vector-valued functions, sequences, and series. The aim is to help students handle the heavier workload and higher difficulty of AP Calculus BC.
