About
This course covers Unit 2 of AP Calculus AB: Fundamentals of Differentiation. Students will learn the basic concepts and definitions of derivatives, the application of derivatives as rates of change, and the calculation of tangent lines and slopes of curves. The course also includes graphical interpretation of the derivative function and different notations for derivatives. Students will gain a deep understanding of differentiability and differentiation rules, including the power rule, sum and difference rules, and higher-order derivatives. Additionally, the course introduces product and quotient rules, chain rule, and implicit differentiation techniques. Finally, students will learn the derivatives of specific functions and their applications, including trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and apply derivatives to solve real-world problems such as optimization and related rates problems.
